Bouw Art modular houses are built in our factory in Iecava, Latvia, and Iceland is one of our main export markets.
We finish 60–95 % of the house in the factory, depending on the package. In Iceland we assemble from March or April to November, when there is no snow. Assembly and the crane are priced separately: you can arrange them yourself, or we recommend our own transport and crane partners.
Crane lifts are planned around the season and the wind, because lifting and placing a module in strong wind is far more difficult.

Indicative starting prices per m², excluding VAT. For modular houses this is the price of a fully finished house you can move into. Delivery, the crane and assembly are priced separately. The final price is set by the package, the finishes and the foundations - we confirm it in the quotation.
How a house gets to Iceland
- /01Choosing
You choose the model, the size and the package: Economy, Standard or Custom. We prepare an individual quotation for every project.
- /02Production in Iecava
Floor, walls and roof are built at the same time, in a controlled environment. The internal services are installed in the factory too.
- /03Transport
The house travels to Iceland, most often by sea, including to remote locations where building from scratch on site would not make sense. Delivery is priced separately, and we agree its timing with each client.
- /04Assembly
The house is assembled on the prepared foundations. Assembly and the crane are priced separately, and you can also arrange them yourself. Joining the modules takes from a few hours to a few days.

The delivery cost depends on the size of the house and the shipping company's rates at the time, so we prepare an individual quotation for every project.
When can the house be installed in Iceland?
In Iceland we assemble from March or April to November, and the main condition is that there is no snow. Crane lifts are also planned around the wind, because lifting a module in strong wind is far more difficult. We agree the exact timing with you.
Can you live in the house all year round?
Yes. Our modular houses are designed for living in all year round. Wall and roof insulation can be adapted to the energy-efficiency level you want.
Who prepares the foundations?
The client builds the foundations, and we prepare foundation drawings for every house, so that it sits correctly balanced once it is set down.
Who handles customs and import duty?
We handle the export declarations up to the port. The import declarations and taxes in Iceland are the client's.
